Dominion Mandate

After reading the preface of the book "On Earth as it is in Heaven: Answer God's call to transform the world," I had no idea that Peter had gone through so much warfare, as he put it, "a radioactive explosion of fear might fairly be an understatement. Some wanted him ousted from Christendom-immediately. (Wagner, 2008, p. 7) To the point of having to change the name from "Dominion!" to "On Earth as it is in Heaven" for the second print.
Also, the network of Christian apologists had been opposing what they called dominionism for some time, sharing terms like; "dangerous political movement," "religious extremism," "a betrayal of the political and social mores of our society," "hate-mongering," "bizarre ideas of a handful of Christian Right players, "aberration of true Christian theology," "heresy," and "Christian imperialism," just for starters. (Wagner, 2012, pp. 7-8)
My response to the terminology of dominion mandate and Dominion Theology is that it is the paradigm shift the Church needs to make for this new wineskin in this now season. The Dominion Mandate provides the biblical paradigm for understanding how the Church must involve itself in the cultural mandate as well as the evangelistic mandate. (Wagner, 2008, p. 6) The practical theology that best builds a foundation under social transformation is Dominion Theology, sometimes called "Kingdom now." (Wagner, 2008, p. 59)
As God called us into the Business mountain and became strong influencers in our region, we established an ekklesia in the workplace. To be the extended Church in the workplace Tuesday through to Saturday, bringing God's Kingdom into society outside the nuclear Church on Sundays was a mandate we had to fulfill.
Dominion Theology is Kingdom theology and a Kingdom-focused mandate with an apostolic influence from reading and understanding Dominion Theology's core components. The word Kingdom is from the New Testament, and dominion is from the Old and New Testament.
The core scriptural foundations for Dominion Theology are:
Genesis 1:26 The original stated intention of God was to create the human race so they would "have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. (Wagner, 2008, p. 63)
The first thing God said to Adam and Eve was, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over [all the creation]" Genesis 1:28. (Wagner, 2008, p. 64)
The third temptation, where the devil took Jesus up on an exceedingly high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory (Matthew 4:8) How many kingdoms? All the kingdoms of the world! Then Satan said, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me" (Matthew 4:9) (Wagner, 2008, p.67)
Matthew 6:9-10 (NKJV) In this manner pray: Our Father in Heaven, hallow be Your name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. This is how Jesus taught the disciples to pray.
My opinion regarding Dominion Theology is that we are in the second apostolic age, and the new wine is the Kingdom mandate, which is Dominion Theology. As God's apostolic, we have to build centers to teach, equip and send out God's people into all seven mountains of influence to see the social transformation and see God's Kingdom established region to region, Nation to Nation.
My "Ah-ha" moments relating to Dominion Theology was that when God called Darrell back to Kamloops and to lay down our deliverance ministry training and dive right into the "Business Mountain," I was so confused and did not understand. When I started moving to significant levels of success and influence in our region and the Lord established us with a business that grew and multiplied yearly to where we are now living on 20% of its revenue, and 80% is for "Kingdom purposes, I knew that our ministry was a revenue stream ministry, not a donation driven ministry. In his book, Peter wrote about this in chapter nine, "A New Influence," Money answers everything!" There are three things that produce social transformation: Violence, knowledge, and wealth, and the greatest of these is wealth. That God's dominion mandate tells us that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, His people must replace Satan's dominion over the nations with the blessings of the Kingdom of God. If this is to happen, an essential part of the process should be to transfer the control of wealth. (Wagner, 2008, pp. 181-182) The chain of wealth transfer is four links: Providers, Managers, Distributors, and Field Marshals. This significant transfer of wealth is to facilitate the extension of the Kingdom of God. We need to set God's people free from the curse of poverty and dismantle the spirit of poverty.
Furthermore, we need to mobilize God's people into all spheres of influence, realizing that God is preparing such a harvest of soul and wealth for His Kingdom purposes. The challenges we have faced with Dominion Theology was not with us. Years of intercession for God's people to come from under the lies of the Strongman of Poverty and the Spirit of Religion has been a battle. These strongmen tell the people that Christians are supposed to be poor, that we are supposed to have Church in a building only on Sundays, that we are not supposed to think about Church in the workplace, which can be discouraging. This has been our challenge…but God! We are seeing breakthrough, and the cream is rising; God's people are starting to see that it has to be more than just Church on Sunday, and there is a rising urgency to prayer, for a breakthrough, and people asking God what am I called to do in this hour.
